選擇

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

人生是無數個選擇連接而成的,也因此,人生中的選擇總是路路相連,彷彿是一場迷宮遊戲,在沒有揭露接下來的生命戲碼之前,永遠無法得知這轉折會將人生帶往何處,就像林中岔路,走了這一條,往後也不一定會有機會回頭嘗試另一條路。但也因為這樣的選擇,此後人生大不同。
而我,冥冥中選擇了「經濟學子」作為終身職志,也讓我的人生大為不同。因為經濟學即是一門研究如何選擇的大學問,由認知任何的選擇均須付出代價,有捨有得,到現實生活中的點滴應證,以致我可以坦然面對我的人生,並體會一輩子學習如何作最適選擇的樂趣。
